Water infrastructure is also a priority. Hon. Dzeklo inspected the Agordomi Water Expansion Project and committed to resolving water challenges in underserved areas. She has engaged the Ghana Water Company and contractors to fast-track sustainable solutions.
Urban development is gaining momentum under her administration. The district supports the Alkebulan City Ghana project at Agave-Dzebetato, a 2,000-acre modern city initiative that will feature residential zones, a university, hospital, sports academy, and aerodrome. She continues to advocate for peaceful land management and community support to ensure the project’s success.
In health, the district has partnered with the University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), Volta River Authority (VRA), and Ghana Health Service (GHS) to combat schistosomiasis in Lower Volta Basin communities. Her administration promotes WASH interventions, improved Mass Drug Administration, and community sensitization to reduce disease prevalence.
Agriculture remains a cornerstone of the district’s economy. The district continues to support rice and chilli pepper farming in Fievie, Kpenu, Agbakope, and Hikpo. Through the PERD and Planting for Food and Jobs programs, mango and oil palm seedlings are being distributed to strengthen agro-forestry and diversify incomes.
Tourism is also receiving attention. The district is promoting eco-tourism along the Volta River and cultural sites like Vume pottery and Dabala market. She endorses traditional festivals such as Glimetso Zã and Afenorto to boost local pride and attract visitors.
Her leadership is marked by collaboration, transparency, and action. With a focus on sanitation, infrastructure, and health, South Tongu is being positioned for municipal elevation and sustainable growth.
