Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly: Confirmed Leadership and Strategic Development Commitments

Kwaebibirem Municipal District, situated in the southern corridor of Ghana’s Eastern Region with Kade as its capital, has entered a new phase of administrative and developmental momentum. Following its elevation to municipal status in 2018 and ongoing infrastructural expansion, the Assembly has confirmed Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Nti as Municipal Chief Executive—a leader whose vision aligns strongly with regional transformation and inclusive governance.

Municipal Overview
Established in 1988 and restructured in 2012 with the creation of Denkyembour District, Kwaebibirem has evolved into a dynamic municipal area encompassing educational, infrastructural, and civic development priorities. The district boasts an extensive road network spanning over 880 kilometers, connecting key urban and peri-urban zones across the Eastern Region.

Key Development Projects
- Kade Educational Office Complex: Fully completed to enhance administrative and educational planning.
- Kade Police Station: A new facility strengthening municipal security and public order.
- Akim Tweapease Community Infrastructure: DACF-RFG–financed project featuring a durbar ground, borehole, and storage system to improve social cohesion and water access.
- Road Rehabilitation & Expansion: Extensive upgrades underway to improve connectivity between Kade, Abirem, Anyinam, and Asamankese.

Leadership Confirmation
Hon. Emmanuel Kofi Nti secured his confirmation as Municipal Chief Executive with resounding support—96.5% endorsement from Assembly Members (55 out of 57 votes). A former Parliamentary Candidate for the NDC and a respected figure known affectionately as “Teacher,” Hon. Nti brings educational grounding, community trust, and strategic clarity to the role.

Governance Vision
His priorities include reviving stalled infrastructure, championing youth empowerment, strengthening utilities in underserved communities, and promoting civic participation—especially around property rate compliance. His inclusive leadership style is rooted in peace, unity, and collaborative development, setting a tone for accountable governance and district-wide progress.

Conclusion
Kwaebibirem Municipal Assembly is poised for targeted transformation under confirmed leadership. Stakeholders across sectors are invited to align with the Assembly’s agenda and contribute meaningfully to its trajectory of growth, equity, and public service delivery.
