North Dayi District: Hon. Ernest Adevor Champions Inclusive Growth and Strategic Transformation
Since its establishment under Legislative Instrument 2076 in 2012, North Dayi District—nestled in the heart of the Volta Region—has steadily pursued a path of sustainable development and inclusive governance. With Anfoega as its administrative capital, the district continues to evolve as a center of opportunity, flanked by Kpando Municipal to the north, South Dayi District to the south, Afadzato South to the east, and the expansive Volta Lake to the west.
The district’s development portfolio under his administration showcases a blend of revitalized infrastructure, agricultural innovation, and tourism potential. The Anfoega Market and Lorry Park are undergoing extensive redevelopment to enhance mobility and commercial activity, benefitting traders, transport operators, and consumers across the district.
In education, the district has expanded access through newly constructed ICT centres, kindergarten blocks, and rehabilitated classroom units, boosting learning conditions and teacher retention, especially in underserved communities.
One of the district’s standout agricultural initiatives is the greenhouse demonstration facility, a beacon for youth-led agribusiness and year-round vegetable cultivation.
This innovation not only supports food security but also aligns with the broader national goal of modernizing agriculture through climate-smart technologies. Complementing these strides, the district’s rich natural assets—particularly its riverside communities like Awate and Tsorhor—are being repositioned as tourism gateways. Plans for beach resorts and water-based recreation are already attracting interest from private developers.
Hon. Adevoe’s administration remains committed to positioning North Dayi as a model district—one that combines visionary leadership with local participation and strategic partnerships. With promising projects underway and a leadership that listens, North Dayi is charting a future of resilience, growth, and community-centered transformation.
