The current District Chief Executive is Parke-Davis Magyigbe, confirmed in April 2025 with 86 percent assembly approval. His priorities include road connectivity, youth employment, and improved health infrastructure.
Jasikan District Municipal District
Jasikan District lies in the southeastern part of the Oti Region, with Jasikan as its capital. It was established by Legislative Instrument 1901 and shares boundaries with Kadjebi, Biakoye, and the Volta Region. The district spans approximately 1,200 square kilometers and is characterized by forested terrain and fertile soils.
The population is estimated at 78,000, with farming as the dominant occupation. Crops include cocoa, cassava, plantain, maize, and vegetables. The district also supports timber extraction and artisanal crafts. Jasikan Senior High School and the College of Education serve as key educational institutions.
Four key development projects include the rehabilitation of the Jasikan–Hohoe road, expansion of classroom blocks in Baglo and Okadjakrom, construction of a CHPS compound at New Ayoma, and the rollout of the Planting for Export and Rural Development (PERD) initiative focused on cocoa and oil palm
