Hon. Hafiz Dauda Dabeil is the current District Chief Executive for Asutifi North. Appointed in 2025, he brings a pragmatic and community-centred approach to governance. He is achartered forensic auditor and business risk strategist.
His leadership is marked by active stakeholder engagement, strategic planning, and a focus on inclusive development. Hon. Dabeil has prioritized infrastructure expansion, youth empowerment, and improved service delivery.
Abount Asutifi North Municipal District
Asutifi North District is located in the eastern part of Ghana’s Ahafo Region, with Kenyasi serving as its administrative capital. The district was established in 2012 following the division of the former Asutifi District into North and South under Legislative Instrument 2093.
It covers a land area of approximately 936 square kilometers and comprises over 139 settlements, including Kenyasi No.1, Kenyasi No.2, Ntotroso, Wamahinso, Gyedu, and Gamabia II. The population, as recorded in the 2021 census, stands at 73,556, with a majority residing in rural communities. Agriculture remains the backbone of the local economy, complemented by growing service and mining sectors. The district is also known for its commitment to water and sanitation development, particularly through the ANAM WASH initiative.
He works closely with traditional authorities, civil society organizations, and development partners to align district goals with national policy frameworks. His administration emphasizes transparency, participatory governance, and sustainable growth.
Among the key development projects include the implementation of the ANAM WASH Master Plan, which has significantly improved access to clean water and sanitation services. Through partnerships with World Vision, IRC Ghana, and other stakeholders, the district has constructed over 226 water points, including mechanized systems, boreholes, and rehabilitated wells, serving more than 53,000 residents.
Another major initiative is the re-launch of the Road Improvement Programme, aimed at upgrading 190 kilometers of road network to enhance mobility, reduce travel time, and stimulate economic activity. The district has also invested in technical and vocational education, notably through the engagement of Gyedu TVET to promote industrialization and skills development. Additionally, the Assembly has strengthened social protection programs such as LEAP, with targeted training for community focal persons to improve implementation and outreach.
