Amansie South Rising: Infrastructure Gains and Inclusive Leadership Under Hon. Benjamin Marfo

The Amansie South District is entering a new chapter marked by revitalized leadership and tangible strides in development. A major turning point was the unanimous endorsement of Hon. Benjamin Marfo as the new District Chief Executive (DCE), with all 37 Assembly Members voting “Yes” during an exercise supervised by the Electoral Commission.
The confirmation ceremony, held at the District Assembly Hall, was graced by traditional leaders, heads of departments, party executives, and community members.

Mr. Marfo expressed heartfelt appreciation for the trust placed in him and vowed to lead with transparency, hard work, and inclusiveness. “I am deeply honored by this overwhelming endorsement. It is a clear message that the people of Amansie South are ready for progress,” he stated.

He emphasized his commitment to working with all stakeholders, regardless of political affiliation, to drive development across the district. Education, healthcare, infrastructure, and unity among residents stand among his top priorities. Community sentiments echoed optimism, with one resident stating, “We are happy with this endorsement because Mr. Marfo is a humble and hardworking man. We believe he will bring the change we have long waited for.” Traditional leaders also shared their hopes, with Nana Oppong Mensah Abrampa, Sompahene for Manso Nkwatan, urging Mr. Marfo to remain accessible as the President’s representative.

Backed by strong leadership, Amansie South has launched several notable development projects. The Agenda 111 hospital project, currently under construction, aims to bring quality healthcare closer to residents and ease pressure on distant facilities. A new fire station in Manso Adubia is also underway, expected to significantly improve emergency response efforts. In August 2023, a modern 30-seater toilet facility was commissioned in Manso Datano, funded through the District Assembly Common Fund to address urgent sanitation needs for schoolchildren and traders. Additionally, lockable stores have been constructed in Manso Datano to support small businesses and enhance local commerce.
