Akyemansa District: Driving Progress Through Infrastructure, Agriculture, and Inclusive Leadership
Located in the southwestern corridor of Ghana’s Eastern Region, Akyemansa District was officially established on 29 February 2008 following its separation from the former Birim North District. Its administrative capital, Ofoase, now serves as the nerve center of a vibrant district steadily rising through strategic development interventions and community-focused governance.

Recent initiatives across Akyemansa highlight the district's dedication to improving health infrastructure, boosting agricultural productivity, and enhancing transportation links. At Akyem Abenase, the district oversaw the completion of a three-unit nurses’ quarters to improve residential conditions for health workers and enhance rural healthcare delivery.

In Akyem Kotokuom, the construction of a CHPS compound, supported by JOICFP, has brought vital healthcare services closer to residents, particularly mothers and children in underserved areas.
Agriculture remains a key pillar in the district’s growth strategy, exemplified by the maintenance of a 35-acre oil palm plantation in Bontodiase, which supports livelihoods and encourages agro-processing initiatives. To strengthen inter-community connectivity and promote market access, the district also rehabilitated feeder roads including the links between Kofi-Nimo and Otwereso, as well as the route from Zevor to Zevor Camp.
