Ada West on the Rise: 4 Bold Projects Driving the District’s Development**
Since its establishment in 2012, Ada West District in the Greater Accra Region has been steadily asserting its role in Ghana’s progress. Under the leadership of Hon. Jerry John Foreigner Mills-Nkrumah, the district is advancing through targeted investments in key sectors. Here are four major projects defining its transformation:
Market Infrastructure in Ada Foah – A Boost for Local Traders
At the heart of Ada Foah’s commercial revival is the construction of new market sheds, a fence wall, and a drainage system** at the D1 Saint site. This project not only improves market safety and sanitation but also strengthens the local economy by providing secure, weather-resilient spaces for everyday traders and small businesses.
Ada Songhor Salt Project – Ghana’s Industrial Salt Giant
This Electrochem-led project aims to produce up to 15 million metric tonnes of salt annually. As one of the largest salt ventures in West Africa, it is a cornerstone of Ghana’s AfCFTA trade strategy and a major job creator, benefiting communities through infrastructure and livelihood support.
Walled Riverfront Property Development – Real Estate with a View
Located in Ada Foah, this two-plot walled property offers 80 feet of direct Volta River frontage, making it a prime site for residential or eco-tourism ventures. Its picturesque setting and available utilities reflect Ada West’s growing potential for smart, scenic development.
Nakom–Bonikorpe Road Works – Linking Lives and Livelihoods
Spanning 3.10 km, this project involves sectional gravelling and reshaping of the vital Nakom Junction–Bonikorpe route. It plays a critical role in connecting rural communities to schools, farms, and health facilities—advancing the district’s infrastructure goals under the Environment, Infrastructure, and Human Settlements agenda.
From markets to roads, salt fields to riverfront prospects, Ada West is building a future grounded in opportunity, inclusion, and sustainability.
